Toshiba’s 14-inch USB powered Mobile Monitor unleashed..!!
Apr 7th
Toshiba released many portable computing systems, but now Toshiba start developing a brand new type of portable PC monitor, powered solely via USB. Officially this Toshiba product known as the 14-inch USB-powered Mobile LCD Monitor, this new solution from Toshiba developed exclusively for the needs of notebook users who will add some extra desktop space for their multiple applications.
When ever you take a walk into any graphic or game design studio, trading center or media authoring/editing business and you’ll more than likely see some sort of multi-display workstation setup. I too have found that expanding display real estate over more than one screen can be very useful, but when thinking about such things for my notebook, I’m kind of limited to integrated screen and a half or full dual-screen options. Happily, Toshiba’s Digital Products Division is now offering another solution - a 14” Mobile Monitor that gets its power and video feed from one USB cable.
Toshiba’s new USB Mobile LCD Monitor is able to draw its power needs and receive video signals through one USB connection. Unlike the smaller Mimo Mini USB Monitor, Toshiba’s LCD panel offers a 14-inch, 1366 x 768 resolution, HD-capable display area and includes a protective black vinyl carrying case, which folds into an adjustable stand. Toshiba 14-inch USB-powered Mobile LCD Monitor is a multi-screen and ultra-portable solution. This product is designed as portable which can easily fit in most laptop covers, use its power and receive video signals through USB cable because of this need of video lead or Ac adapter has eliminated.
It’s only about half an inch thick, weighs 1.22 kg and is compatible with any laptop or computer running Windows. The front of the display features an up and down brightness/power-save control and power on/off button, and the unit comes shipped with a USB Y-cable.
This USB LCD monitor is certified by DisplayLink and compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, Vista and XP Operating Systems.

Hanwha unleashes HDMI / USB adapter…!!
Apr 1st
Hanwha introduces HDMI / USB adapter for iPad, iPhone 4, and fourth-gen iPod touch. Feel the desire to watch your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch videos on the big screen, but looking for something with a little more girth than Apple’s HDMI solution…?
Hanwha’s latest dongle might do the job. Its a place of the original adapter’s dock connector port is a USB 2.0 socket - compatible with cameras supporting mass storage connection - alongside the 720p-friendly HDMI port, but you’ll have to use the switch to toggle between the two modes. And that little mini-USB port on the far right…? Well, it’s there to provide some juice to reduce battery drain, but probably not enough to charge up your iDevice.
It is significantly more expensive, but also provides a combination of HDMI and Camera Adapter. It will be interesting to learn whether the HDMI and USB converter will let users plug in USB devices like flash drives or 3G modems. These will certainly extend the usefulness of your iPad or iPhone.
