Sony announces S1 & S2 dual screened Android tablets…
Apr 26th
Sony has just announced a pair of Honeycomb tablets in a press event in Tokyo, called the S1 and the S2, both of which are still codenames according to Sony. It has made its 9.4-inch Sony S1 and 5.5-inch dual-screened S2 Honeycomb tablets official with a press event in Tokyo recently. We’ve been hearing about these since mid-February, and recently the Japanese paper Nikkei has said Sony has plans to enter the U.S. market before the end of Summer 2011.
The S1 is a 9.4-inch tablet with an off-center of gravity design that supposedly makes it easier to grip and more comfortable to hold. Kunimasa Suzuki, Deputy President of Sony’s consumer products and services group likens it to holding a magazine. The S2 is a 5.5-inch dual-screened tablet that has the ability to use the screens as one large canvas, or feature specially coded applications running in each independently.
Both the S1 and S2 house Nvidia Tegra 2 processors, and the ability to integrate with other Sony products. And they both sport the Playstation Suite, like the new Xperia Play smartphone. An example was given where the S1 can act as a remote for Bravia marked equipment. Both the S1 and S2 will be available globally this fall.

Apr 13th
HTC has announced its new flagship smartphone, the HTC Sensation which is Powered by a 1.2 GHz MSM8660 dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) the HTC Sensation is designed with multimedia in mind. The Sense 3.0, front-facing VGA camera, and 4G capabilities, the Sensation shares most of the features from the EVO 3D, just subtract the 3D from that.
Tapping into HTC’s trademark design language, the HTC Sensation’s premium look and feel is enhanced by its rounded edges, aluminum unibody construction and the touch screen surface is protected by a contoured screen that feels more natural as a finger is glided across it. The 4.3″ qHD (960 x 540) display delivers high-resolution widescreen viewing and gives the HTC Sensation slender proportions that feel natural in a person’s hand. At the heart of the HTC Sensation beats a powerful, 1.2 gigahertz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which enables gorgeous graphics and all-around fast performance.
A higher resolution 8-megapixel rear facing autofocus camera that can shoot 1080p video at 30fps. Captured video can also be trimmed on the phone itself before uploading. For downloading videos, the Sensation’s HSPA+ capabilities promise speed up to 14.4 Mbps, and a new HTC Watch video download service, that will also be found on the company’s upcoming Flyer tablet, makes its first appearance in a phone.
The Sensation comes with 768 MB of RAM and 1GB of internal memory, but HTC has thrown in an 8GB microSD card to help with all that video your service provider hopes you’ll be downloading on the device. The phone weighs 148 g (5.2 oz.) and at 11.3 mm (0.44 inches) thick, comes in slightly thicker than the iPhone 4. However, the Sensation’s 4.3-inch widescreen display is almost an inch bigger than the 3.5-inch display of Apple‘s device.
Features include a customizable active lock screen that constantly updates social media, photos, weather or stock updates, which can then be viewed by waking the display. The lock screen also serves as the launchpad for jumping to the phone’s most-used features. For example, the camera can be launched right from the lock screen in a single motion to give users the best possible chance of capturing the action.
HTC Sense also makes it easy to have fun by enabling people to capture and share special moments. The HTC Sensation’s 8-megapixel camera doesn’t just shoot gorgeous photos but, with the new instant capture feature, lets people capture the moments they want without worrying about missing or keeping up with the action. The HTC Sensation also shoots full HD video in 1080p resolution as said earlier, with full stereo sound, at up to 30 frames a second, giving you smooth video that is better than many other phones. With the new Video Trimmer tool, people can crop their clips to the perfect size for easy sharing with friends and family.

Lenovo to release 23″ tablet by the end of this year…
Apr 13th
William Cai, a Lenovo senior specialist in marketing, told techradar during a talk at this year’s Gadget Show Live that they are currently working on a 23 inch tablet. If it is true, Lenovo will surely release its new 23-inch tablet sooner or later but not longer than this year. And he admits it wont be as portable as your more typical, smaller tablet, but could still be easily moved between rooms, used as a TV, and is big enough to offer you a full-size QWERTY keyboard.
At first glance, such a huge PC tablet goes against all logic. But then again, it may just require a shift in concept of what a PC tablet is all about. When you stop to think about it, the design really isn’t that far off from the iMac desktops that Apple has been producing since the mid 2000s – really, the only difference would be a touch screen and a kickstand. The Apple iMac has seen unprecedented and ongoing success, and mobility would only add to its function. The same could happen for the Lenovo mega PC tablet, as long as they find a confident purpose and the right way to market it.
Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing, release date, or availability…. Click Pricesbolo.com to check on various models of Lenovo products and tablets.
Latest FinePix compact gets new EXR CMOS sensor and multi-touch display…
Apr 7th
Fujifilm has announced the upcoming release of a new 16 megapixel compact with a multi-touch display, a new sensor and the ability to shoot full high definition video. Taking over from the FinePix Z800EXR, features include more dynamic range, improved battery life and full resolution continuous shooting of three frames per second.
The undeniably glamorous addition to Fujifilm’s spring 2011 collection, the new FinePix Z900EXR is sure to get tongues wagging. With its effortless good looks, feature-packed specification and brilliant picture-taking performance, its set to become the must-have camera for Fashionistas this season. The FinePix Z900EXR is a good 2mm thinner than its predecessor at 18.2mm (0.7-inches). There’s a major change in the sensor department too. The 12 megapixel EXR CCD sensor has been replaced by a new EXR CMOS sensor with a resolution boost up to 16 megapixel plus backside illumination (BSI) technology.
In conventional sensors, light has to pass through a layer of wiring before it reaches the photo diodes and so reduces the amount of light captured. BSI puts the photo sensors in front of the wires, which improves sensitivity. The ISO sensitivity has been upped to ISO6400 and the camera’s dual-CPU EXR processor is said to help reduce the purple fringing that can sometimes occur – especially when dark subjects are placed against a light background – and sharpen the corners of an image for more uniform results.
Fujifilm has made some changes in the lens department too, with the Z900EXR coming with a 5x wide-angle, 28-140mm (35mm equivalent) Fujinon zoom lens.
The camera can automatically detect up to 27 different scenes – including blue sky, green leaves, and sunsets – and there’s a 360 degree panorama mode and the dynamic range has been increased to 1600 percent.

The Z900EXR is capable of recording full 1080p high definition movies at 30 frames per second in the H.264 format. A high speed video function which offers capture at up to 320 frames per second.
