Apple’s white iPhone 4 to be seen at the end of APRIL, FINALLY…
Apr 15th
Apple repeatedly delayed the product in 2010, citing manufacturing issues. Last October, the company announced that the white iPhone 4 would not arrive until spring 2011.
The extended delay of the white iPhone 4 has prompted speculation that Apple will hold off on releasing a redesigned iPhone this summer. Numerous rumors have now suggested that Apple will instead release the so called iPhone 5 this fall, with one report suggesting that Apple would not release a next-generation iPhone until after Apple’s fiscal 2012 begins in late September.
A new report claims that Apple will finally begin selling the white iPhone 4 by the end of April after having resolved manufacturing challenges that resulted in a 10-month delay.
Citing people familiar with Apple’s plans, Bloomberg reported Wednesday that the white iPhone is almost ready for launch on both AT&T and Verizon, corroborating an earlier report from AppleInsider that the device would launch in April.
The white model may help spur demand as Apple works on the next generation of its top- elling product. Apple, the world’s largest technology company by market value, isn’t planning to announce a new iPhone at its June developers’ conference, breaking with its practice in past years, two people familiar with the matter said. It may instead introduce the next iPhone in September, according to Mike Abramsky, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets in Toronto.
The white iPhone 4 was originally supposed to come out shortly after the black iPhone 4 debuted in June of last year, but it has been repeatedly delayed due to issues with light leaking through the glass plate and onto the camera sensor. Since the introduction of the first iPod media player in 2001, white has been a popular colour for Apple’s gadgets. The earlier iPhone 3GS model was available in white, as is the iPad 2, which went on sale last month.

Just how the media measurement companies intend to deal with devices such as the Broadway 2T will be interesting to watch. Expats the world over might be watching local television in their home country on their internet devices in foreign countries, but their patronage will be irrelevant to most of the advertisers who are paying for that audience. It’s not a problem yet, but it looks like becoming that way quite soon as media footprints lose their definition.
When mobile, your TV and content is accessed via your web browser. The 2T will also enable remote control of home content such as scheduling recordings and playing pre-recorded content. The Broadway 2T utilises 802.11n wireless as stated above and its sophisticated MPEG-4 H.264 hardware compression codec ensure minimal demand on mobile device battery life.
