HTC Sensation 4G takes HTC flagship mantle….
Apr 13th
HTC has announced its new flagship smartphone, the HTC Sensation which is Powered by a 1.2 GHz MSM8660 dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) the HTC Sensation is designed with multimedia in mind. The Sense 3.0, front-facing VGA camera, and 4G capabilities, the Sensation shares most of the features from the EVO 3D, just subtract the 3D from that.
Tapping into HTC’s trademark design language, the HTC Sensation’s premium look and feel is enhanced by its rounded edges, aluminum unibody construction and the touch screen surface is protected by a contoured screen that feels more natural as a finger is glided across it. The 4.3″ qHD (960 x 540) display delivers high-resolution widescreen viewing and gives the HTC Sensation slender proportions that feel natural in a person’s hand. At the heart of the HTC Sensation beats a powerful, 1.2 gigahertz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which enables gorgeous graphics and all-around fast performance.
A higher resolution 8-megapixel rear facing autofocus camera that can shoot 1080p video at 30fps. Captured video can also be trimmed on the phone itself before uploading. For downloading videos, the Sensation’s HSPA+ capabilities promise speed up to 14.4 Mbps, and a new HTC Watch video download service, that will also be found on the company’s upcoming Flyer tablet, makes its first appearance in a phone.
The Sensation comes with 768 MB of RAM and 1GB of internal memory, but HTC has thrown in an 8GB microSD card to help with all that video your service provider hopes you’ll be downloading on the device. The phone weighs 148 g (5.2 oz.) and at 11.3 mm (0.44 inches) thick, comes in slightly thicker than the iPhone 4. However, the Sensation’s 4.3-inch widescreen display is almost an inch bigger than the 3.5-inch display of Apple‘s device.
Features include a customizable active lock screen that constantly updates social media, photos, weather or stock updates, which can then be viewed by waking the display. The lock screen also serves as the launchpad for jumping to the phone’s most-used features. For example, the camera can be launched right from the lock screen in a single motion to give users the best possible chance of capturing the action.
HTC Sense also makes it easy to have fun by enabling people to capture and share special moments. The HTC Sensation’s 8-megapixel camera doesn’t just shoot gorgeous photos but, with the new instant capture feature, lets people capture the moments they want without worrying about missing or keeping up with the action. The HTC Sensation also shoots full HD video in 1080p resolution as said earlier, with full stereo sound, at up to 30 frames a second, giving you smooth video that is better than many other phones. With the new Video Trimmer tool, people can crop their clips to the perfect size for easy sharing with friends and family.
HTC will release the Sensation 4G around May/June, and worldwide availability details are yet to be announced. To check Other HTC models Click Pricesbolo.com.

Nokia X7 smartphone with updated Symbian Software…
Apr 13th
With 2 new smartphones from Nokia, it is showing no immediate signs of letting up on its Symbian operating system.
The E6 and the X7, both announced today, will be the first smartphones to ship with Symbian Anna, the latest update to the mobile operating system, which is used primarily by Nokia. Earlier this year, however, Nokia signed a deal with Microsoft that will make Windows Phone 7 the principal operating system on its smartphones, with the shift the Microsoft OS starting as early as next year.
Nokia has officially taken the wraps off its new X7 smartphone – an entertainment and mobile gaming focused unit that packs a 4-inch, 16:9, AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 8 megapixel camera and 720p video capture into nicely chiseled stainless steel casing that’s less than half an inch (11.9 mm) thick. Along with the (also freshly announced) QWERTY keyboard equipped E6, the X7 is the first Nokia device to run on the updated Symbian “Anna” platform which introduces a raft of enhancements including new icons, improved text input, faster browsing and a spruced-up version of Ovi Maps.
Though the 4-inch screen size trumps some of the obvious competition, the X7 still seems a little light on pixels with its 640 x 360 resolution. The 8 megapixel camera is enhanced by a face recognition software and a dual LED flash, with 2x digital zoom available for still images and 3x digital for video.
Under the bonnet there’s a 680MHz CPU with 256MB RAM and the phone will ship with an 8 GB microSD card (supporting up to 32 GB), includes GPS receivers, an accelerometer for screen orientation and gaming. There is also 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and a 3.5mm audio jack.
“With these new products and more Symbian devices and user enhancements coming in the near future, we are confident we can keep existing Nokia smartphone customers engaged, as well as attract new first-time and competitor smartphone users,” Jo Harlow, head of Nokia’s Smart Devices business, said in a statement today.

SteadyCam Pro Application provides real time image stabilization for iPhone videos
Apr 8th
Now to speak about the SteadyCam Pro for iPhone, We can start it in this way, actually, the video capture capabilities found in today’s mobile phones has made it easier than ever to record those priceless memories whenever and wherever they may occur. However, one of the downsides to cramming a video camera into such a small device is the lack of stability that often results in videos that look like they were shot the morning after a big night. With a full-blown steadycam rig probably not the best solution for smoothing out things on the go, Midnox has created an application that provides real-time image stabilization for the iPhone 4.
The SteadyCam Pro application is compatible with iPhone 4′s running iOS 4.1 or later. It’s shake reducing magic comes courtesy of some advanced signal processing algorithms, which can apparently also correct for the rolling shutter that produces distorted shots of fast moving objects due to the fact that each frame recorded by the iPhone isn’t from a single point in time, but is recorded by scanning across the frame. A free trial version of the application that lets users record 15 seconds worth of footage and stamps a watermark on captured footage also provides the opportunity to try before you buy.
Its a 3D update for Canon XF305 and XF300 Professional Camcorders…
Apr 8th
Canon announced today that it will be releasing a firmware update for the XF305 and XF300 professional camcorders. The update includes Canon’s 3D Assist Function, as well as an updated Scan Reverse function, Double Slot Recording, and the option to disable Relay Recording. A significant enhancements to the Canon XF305 and XF300 Professional Camcorders, including the ability to configure two units for 3D HD video capture.
The new firmware includes the ability to perform OIS Lens Shift to aid in optically aligning two XF305 or XF300 camcorders and a Focal Length Guide to display the zoom position of each camera in relation to each other and help calibrate zoom settings. This adjustment can be done through the menu system while the camcorders are mounted to a rig or tripod. Canon’s 3D Assist Function facilitates the setup of two XF305 or XF300 Professional Camcorders when used together to capture 3D HD video.
The new firmware updates the Scan Reverse functionality of XF300-series camcorders to allow for recorded images to be flipped on the horizontal axis, vertical axis, or both simultaneously to facilitate recording with 3D mirror rigs.
This new function allows the camcorders to record footage simultaneously to both card slots for instant backup of important footage and files. Ideal for use in production environments to ensure multiple copies are secured for each take.
Relay Recording, an innovative feature where footage is seamlessly recorded to the second CF card as the first fills up, can now be turned off to prevent capture data from automatically being recorded to the second card. This allows the second card to be protected from recording and used only when designated or to allow the user to only copy or back up select takes to the card.
The Company’s XF300-series camcorders employ Canon’s XF Codec, anMPEG-2 4:2:2 50Mbps codec fornative 1920 x 1080 HD video recording onto affordable, universally available Compact Flash (CF) cards. Uniting video, audio and metadata into a single file, the Canon XF305 and XF300 useanMXF (Material eXchange Format) File Wrapper, a widely supported open-source format, to maximize compatibility with existing industry infrastructure and non-linear editing (NLE) systems.
The Canon XF305 and XF300 Professional Camcorders include a Genuine Canon 18x HD L-series lens, three Canon developed and designed native 1920 x 1080 CMOS image sensors, and Canon’s own XF Codecthat delivers the extreme color detail required for accurate chroma-keying, color-grading and compositing for digital filmmaking. In addition, Canon’s XF305 model features industry-standard HD-SDI output, genlock, and SMPTE time code (in/out) terminals for multi-camera, broadcasting or 3D production.
The Canon XF305 and XF300 Professional Camcorders are designed for multiple production applications including broadcast news, documentary and independent filmmaking and event videography. Check the varous Canion models click pricesbolo.com.
Nikon lunches D5100 with ME1 external mic…
Apr 6th
Nikon kind of spoiled the surprise with this one, but you’ll be now enlightened with the full details of its upcoming midrange (or “advanced beginner” as Nikon calls it) DSLR refresh. The D5100 takes the spot of the venerable D5000, but follows the previous generation’s recipe for success pretty closely. The D5000 was a stripped-down D90 in a simpler, smaller package that came with an articulating LCD, and the D5100 just so happens to feature the same mighty 16.2 megapixel sensor as the D7000 (Nikon’s current high-end consumer DSLR) augmented with a flipout screen. Having the D7000′s internals helps the new shooter churn out 1080p video at 24fps, 25fps, or 30fps, depending on your preference for up to a maximum of 20 minutes. The D5000 is only capable of five-minute bursts of 720/24p video and isn’t able to continually autofocus, which the D5100 can. The D5100 also betters its predecessor in terms of physical fitness, coming in at a healthy 10 percent lighter and smaller, while a good number of the physical controls have been repositioned in order to allow for a new horizontal opening mechanism. That’ll be a well appreciated tweak for tripod users. The new screen’s also 17 percent thinner, we’re told, and steps up to a 3-inch diagonal with a 920k-dot resolution. Solid stuff. After the break you’ll find a full spec sheet along with some video action with the D5100.
The D5100 has a newly introduced special effects mode to shoot amazingly unique pictures and full (1080p) HD movies. The range of seven effects include selective colour, where you select up to three colours to appear in the still or movie while other areas are monochrome, and miniature effect, which makes an image appear like a view of miniature scale. You can select which special effect to shoot in and they are directly accessible via the mode dial on the top of the camera.
The External Microphone the ME-1 is specifically designed for D-SLRs, it lets you record movie clips in high-quality stereo sound with no AF-noise.
The 11-point AF system provides the fast and precise autofocus coverage across the frame.
Four AF-area modes, including 3D-tracking AF, keeps your main subject in focus even if the composition changes quickly in action scenes. This can be accompanied with continuous shooting up to 4 fps to really capture fast moving subjects.
Nikon has just announced their successor to the famous D5000 DSLR Basic Specs include
1. Full HD video 1920×1080p at 30p
2. 16.2MP sensor
3. New HDR feature
4. New special effects during video (selective colors, miniature effect, etc.)
5. The already mentioned Night Vision option with ISO up to 102400
6. EXPEED 2 processor
7. Standard ISO 100-6400
8. Stereo mic input
9. 4 fps
10. Quiet shutter mode
11. Side swivel LCD screen
12. EN-EL14 battery
Hanwha unleashes HDMI / USB adapter…!!
Apr 1st
Hanwha introduces HDMI / USB adapter for iPad, iPhone 4, and fourth-gen iPod touch. Feel the desire to watch your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch videos on the big screen, but looking for something with a little more girth than Apple’s HDMI solution…?
Hanwha’s latest dongle might do the job. Its a place of the original adapter’s dock connector port is a USB 2.0 socket - compatible with cameras supporting mass storage connection - alongside the 720p-friendly HDMI port, but you’ll have to use the switch to toggle between the two modes. And that little mini-USB port on the far right…? Well, it’s there to provide some juice to reduce battery drain, but probably not enough to charge up your iDevice.
It is significantly more expensive, but also provides a combination of HDMI and Camera Adapter. It will be interesting to learn whether the HDMI and USB converter will let users plug in USB devices like flash drives or 3G modems. These will certainly extend the usefulness of your iPad or iPhone.
